64th Annual Golden Globe Awards
64th Annual Golden Globe Awards
A star studded and absolutely glamorous affair, the 64th annual Golden Globe Awards had everyone who is anyone in Hollywood seated at the tables. It was the first major award show to be held for the year and honored some fine shows indeed.
The guests arrived wearing mainly black and white, plus a few metallic ones. Some of the best dressed celebrities for the night include Jennifer Love Hewitt, Penelope Cruz, Renee Zellweger, Eva Langoria and Reese Witherspoon. Hilary Swank had a really eye catching jeweled flower hair accessory that did wonders to make up for her simple black dress.
Hugh Laurie’s wish for a Dolce & Gabana acceptance speech brought some laughs as did Clint Eastwood’s repeating part of Jennifer Hudson’s acceptance speech. As expected Jennifer Hudson took home the best supporting actress award for her part in Dreamgirls. Best Supporting Actor went to Eddie Murphy, also for Dreamgirls. This was a first for both of them. Meryl Streep took home the Best Actress award for her role as the boss from hell in The Devil Wears Prada. Best Motion Picture went to Babel.
Looks like Hollywood is indeed off to a good start in 2007.
Movie mogul Weistein announces engagement
Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has announced his engagement to Georgina Chapman, a fashion designer.
While Weinstein is over 20 years older than she is, but there’s nothing sexier than a couple of millions and the reputation of being one of Hollywood’s movers and shakers. He’s often spotted at big events, rubbing elbows with a-list celebrities, and signing billion-dollar contracts before his first morning cup of coffee. He and his brother started Miramax, which they left to form another group, the Weinstein Co.

The actress appears as a naked computer-animated killer in Beowulf and she has insisted it would be inappropriate for her three young adopted children and her biological daughter to see her that way.
She told People: "I think it's too much. I don't think they should see their mum that way. I don't wear nightgowns like that in the house. I've got boys in my house. You don't do that as a mum."
But she added that she would not mind them seeing it when they are old enough, saying: "When they're older, hopefully they'll see it. It's weird, I'm a mum."
Earlier this week Jolie spoke out about her embarrassment when she saw Beowulf for the first time, saying that she was shocked at how exposed she felt.
